Tyla, who rose to international fame with her genre-blending hits and dynamic stage presence, expressed her excitement on X shortly after the announcement.

“I’m really about to host the kids choice awards,” she posted, clearly elated about her groundbreaking achievement.

In addition to hosting duties, Tyla is also up for two major nominations: Favourite Global Music Star, Favourite Music Collaboration for her song Show Me Love with WizTheMc and bees & honey

The 2025 nominations feature a strong lineup of global superstars, with Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga leading the pack with four nominations each. Not far behind are Selena Gomez, Dwayne Johnson, Jelly Roll, and Jack Black, who each received three nods.

Tyla’s role as host not only highlights her rising international profile but also marks a significant moment for African representation in global mainstream entertainment. As she steps into this role, she joins the ranks of iconic past hosts while shining a spotlight on African talent in a major way.

With her infectious charm, unique style, and magnetic energy, Tyla is set to bring a fresh and vibrant flavour to the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards and fans around the world are here for it.
