Two Flying Eagles players, captain Daniel Bameyi, and Odinaka Okoro have been named in the official Best XI of the group stage of the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Confederation of African Football, CAF, technical study group announced the selection on Sunday.
Bameyi has been impressive for Nigeria in the competition so far, winning the man of the match in the 0-0 draw with Morocco.
Okoro recorded an assist in the opening match against Tunisia following it up with outstanding performance against Kenya.
Meanwhile, Flying Eagles coach, Aliyu Zubairu has urged the players to see the clash against Senegal as a final.
Nigeria will take on Senegal in the quarter-finals of the competition on Monday with a place in the U-20 World Cup at stake.
The last time both sides met two years ago in the group stage of the competition Senegal earned a 1-0 victory.
He said: He said: “We know what to expect. It is a big match for both teams because the winner will be going to the World Cup.
“It is like a final match, and if you throw in the matter of the rivalry between our two countries, it means we must be disciplined and determined for the entire duration of the game. We will do just that.”
