A 17-year-old boy is dead after a shooting on Chicago’s Northwest Side early Friday morning.
Police officers found the teenager lying in the street in the Montclare neighborhood.
The discovery happened around 12:50 a.m. in the 6700-block of West Grand Avenue.
Someone called 911 to report an unresponsive person on the ground.
When officers arrived, they found the boy had been shot multiple times.
The gunfire struck him in several places across his body.
First responders rushed the victim to Loyola Hospital in serious condition.
Doctors at the hospital later pronounced the 17-year-old dead.
The identity of the teenager has not been released to the public yet.
Investigators are still working to determine what happened before the shots were fired.
No witnesses have come forward with a description of the shooter.
Chicago Police confirmed that no one is currently in custody for the crime.
