Stella Nwadigo, a teacher from Lagos, Nigeria, has been arrested after a video surfaced online showing her physically assaulting a young student during a numeracy class.
The video, which has gone viral, captured Nwadigo repeatedly slapping the child whenever he made mistakes.
This incident reportedly occurred at Christ-Mitots Primary School in Ikorodu.
The footage sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many calling for accountability and emphasizing the need for safe environments in schools.
Following the public outcry, officers from the Owutu Police Station in Ikorodu detained Nwadigo.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency also condemned the teacher’s actions, stressing the government’s commitment to enforcing a zero-tolerance policy for any form of child abuse.
