Nigeria National League side, Sporting Lagos have announced the signing of six players to improve the team in a bid to secure immediate return to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Noisy Lagosians suffered relegation from the NPFL at the end of last season after they finished 17th on the log.
Sporting Lagos have endured a tough start to life in the NNL with just 10 points from 14 matches to occupy the fifth position on the Conference B table.
In a bid to improve the team’s fortunes ahead of the resumption of the second stanza of the Nigeria National League, NNL the club have beefed up the team with eight players.
The club confirmed the arrival of the players on their X handle on Friday.
The new players are; Babatunde Akomolede and Adedayo Aliu (defenders), as well as
Gavi Thompson, , Joseph Nanjul and Aondona Adeede (midfielders).
The club also brought in three strikers; Saheed Abolade, Aliyu Baba and Akinola Damilola to boost the team’s chances of gaining promotion.
The NNL will return on Sunday with Sporting Lagos taking on Rovers FC at the Mobolaji Johnson, Arena in Onikan Lagos.
In 2023, Sporting Lagos secured promotion to the NPFL after a 2-0 win over Stormers FC in the NNL Super Eight playoff.
