Nigerian-Canadian rapper Daniel Nwosu Jr., popularly known as Dax, has shared a heartfelt tribute to his parents, celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary.
In an emotional social media post, the rapper reflected on his parents’ sacrifices and their journey from Nigeria to Canada.
Dax revealed that his mother, born in Aba, is of Igbo descent, and his father, from Lagos, is also Igbo but speaks Yoruba as well.
He shared that his parents immigrated to St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, 35 years ago, and praised them for setting an example of hard work and resilience.
He also described a recent performance as the “proudest moment of his life,” as it was the first time both of his parents had seen him perform.
The rapper expressed his gratitude, saying, “What they gave me wasn’t a dollar amount… They set an example of how to work hard and EXPECT nothing from anyone.”
The post concluded with a message to all parents, emphasizing the challenge of raising the next generation in the social media era.
