Despite their ongoing family tensions, Nigerian music duo Peter and Paul Okoye, popularly known as Psquare, have once again shown that their shared love for football and Chelsea FC in particular can bridge even the widest of divides.
The celebrated twins, whose split as a music group had sparked widespread speculation and disappointment among fans, recently lit up social media as they marked Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup victory with flamboyant displays of support.
Chelsea clinched the coveted Club World Cup title in a thrilling final held at the iconic MetLife Stadium in the United States, and the Psquare brothers made sure the celebration was felt far beyond the pitch.
In separate Instagram posts, both Peter and Paul showcased their joy in distinct but equally passionate styles.
Paul Okoye was seen fully immersed in the spirit of the win, decked out in Chelsea-themed gear. In the video shared on their social media pages, Paul was seen clad in Chelsea colours, with a Chelsea-branded towel and scarf tied on his head. He danced to a popular Igbo cultural song by the Oriental Brothers while holding a branded Chelsea round leather ball.
Not to be outdone, Peter Okoye brought his own dramatic flair to the celebration. Peter, on the other hand, was seen holding what looked like a trophy, clad in his Chelsea jersey, wearing a medal, and sporting a crown on his head, as one of his songs, ‘Winning,’ played in the background.
While their public appearances together have been scarce amid reports of a lingering family feud, this moment of football-induced unity delighted fans, sparking hope for a possible reconciliation or, at the very least, mutual respect on shared interests.
For the Okoye brothers, it seems that when it comes to Chelsea, blood and football remain thicker than controversy.
