The Lagos State Police Command has restored peace in the Owode Onirin area following a violent clash between traders and land grabbers that left three people dead and a police inspector fighting for his life in the hospital.
Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Jimoh personally led a combined team of officers from the operations department, Police Mobile Force, Rapid Response Squad, tactical squads, and State Criminal Investigation Department detectives to the scene.
They quickly cleared blocked highways and roads around the Owode Onirin Market, allowing residents and businesses to resume normal activities.
To prevent any further unrest, the police have stationed adequate personnel in the area.
During the clash, three individuals suffered fatal injuries and died after being rushed to the hospital. A police inspector was also severely wounded and remains in critical condition, receiving urgent medical treatment.
Preliminary investigations have linked Abiodun Ariori, CEO of Prosperous Ariori Golden Venture Limited, to the incident.
The police have declared him wanted, as efforts to arrest him have failed, and he appears to have gone into hiding. Ariori, who is dark in complexion and last known to reside in Egbeda, should be reported if sighted.

In addition, four policemen from outside Lagos State, allegedly brought in by Ariori for illegal duties, have been detained at the command headquarters for an orderly room trial. The police promise to make the investigation outcomes and trial results public to ensure justice.
