Big Brother Naija Level Up winner, Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has strongly criticised a press statement issued by Dangote Group over the recent road accident involving her sister and one of the company’s trucks.
The reality TV star had, a day earlier, publicly called out billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote and his conglomerate. She alleged that after the truck rammed into her sister, police officers allegedly acting on the company’s instructions tampered with the vehicle to remove its plate number. In her emotional outburst, Phyna warned that although Dangote might possess immense wealth, “he isn’t God,” vowing to fight until justice was served.
In response, Dangote Group issued a formal statement expressing its “unwavering commitment” to the victim’s well-being. The company pledged to provide full medical care and appropriate compensation, while also wishing her sister a quick recovery.
However, Phyna found the tone of the message unacceptable and out of touch with the gravity of the situation. She pointed out that her sister had already undergone a leg amputation, casting doubt on the meaning of a “quick recovery” in such circumstances.
“Appropriate compensation? Quick recovery from an already amputated leg? What necessary speed are you taking right now? Let’s not forget the bike man, who is also in critical condition,” she wrote in her fiery response.
Her remarks have reignited public attention on the case, with many Nigerians now following developments closely and awaiting updates on both her sister’s condition and that of the injured motorcycle rider.
