Reality TV star and Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has taken to social media to raise alarm over an alleged assault and unlawful detention by a hotel in Abuja.
In a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram page, the outspoken media personality accused the management of Dalchifit Hotel, located in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja, of negligence and endangering her life. According to Phyna, the hotel’s staff not only failed to protect her from attackers but also allegedly disclosed her room number to a group of thugs who stormed her suite.
The incident, which has since gone viral, comes days after a video surfaced online showing Phyna engaged in a heated altercation with another woman. She explained that the confrontation took place after the intruders whom she described as touts forced their way into her room, an act she claimed was made possible by the hotel’s staff.
“Because I’m Phyna, I’m being forced by a hotel that couldn’t secure me on their premises. A hotel that allowed touts through their main gate, through reception, up to the second floor to break down my door. The same hotel that told the touts my room number. I’ve never seen that type of thing,” she lamented.
The reality star further alleged that the hotel was attempting to detain her until Monday, insisting that she must pay ₦3.5 million for damages reportedly caused during the altercation.
“Dalchifit Hotel in Gwarinpa allowed touts to come into the hotel to fight me, and now they’re about to lock me up till Monday because I refused to pay ₦3.5 million,” Phyna wrote.
Expressing deep frustration, she hinted that 2025 has been a particularly challenging year for her, saying, “This 2025 for just take me leave my sister.”
The dramatic revelation has sparked outrage among her fans and industry colleagues, many of whom are calling for a full investigation into the hotel’s role in the incident.
As of press time, Dalchifit Hotel has not released an official statement responding to Phyna’s allegations, but the story continues to dominate conversations across social media platforms.
