Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen set a new personal record with a brace in Galatasaray’s 4-1 win over Sivasspor to move them closer to the Turkish League title.
Osimhen scored two goals in the encounter to mark his highest ever tally in a single season in Europe, beating his previous record at Napoli two seasons ago.
He has now scored 33 goals in all competitions for Galatasaray this season, the highest in his career in a single season, he scored 31 for Napoli to lead them to the Italian Serie A title in 2023.
The former Lille forward has now recorded 40 goals contributions for the Turkish this season since joining the club in the summer from Napoli on loan.
With two more goals before the end of the season, Osimhen will surpass Mario Jardel to become the highest single-season scorer for Galatasaray.
Osimhen is now the top scorer in the Turkish League with 24 goals.
The 26-year-old hailed his teammates for the impressive win over Sivasspor.

The victory extended Galatasaray’s lead over Fernabahce to eight points with four matches to go.
Jose Mourinho’s side will be in action against Besiktas on Sunday.
