Nigerian rap star Ice Prince has credited fellow rapper MI Abaga as the mastermind behind his lyrical prowess and rap discipline.
In a recent chat with content creator Isbaeu on Curiosity Made Me Ask, Ice Prince opened up about the major influence MI had on his career, describing the veteran rapper as his mentor and teacher.
“I can rap on any beat with any rapper, and I will still stand out. I’m not going to have a wack verse on a song,” Ice Prince boldly declared.
While he acknowledged the skills of other rappers, he emphasized the impact of being trained by one of the best. “I am not saying other rappers cannot rap, but it cannot be said that I’m wack. I was brought up by the best, shout out to MI Abaga.”
The Oleku crooner added, “I rapped with him for years. He is my big brother, and he taught me well.”
Ice Prince’s tribute to MI comes as a nod to the long-standing bond they share and the legacy MI has built as one of Nigeria’s most influential hip-hop artists.
