The ongoing feud between May Yul-Edochie, estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, and her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, has taken a new twist after Ugwuonye publicly released private chats allegedly exchanged during her divorce proceedings.
Ugwuonye, in a lengthy post on Facebook on Friday, shared screenshots of conversations with May, claiming he played a pivotal role in guiding and supporting her through the legal process. He alleged that he gave her “first-class treatment,” including insider guidance on court procedures, only for her to turn against him.
“If you see the chats between us, you will understand how fake May is and what a terrible liar she is. All those who believe her are just pitiable,” Ugwuonye wrote.
He further stated: “Can you see how I was guiding her on when to get to court? I gave this woman first class treatment. I would send her the Cause List and guide her so she would not wait long before her case would be called.”
The lawyer accused May of dishonesty and manipulation, warning her to pray he does not release further evidence that could “damage her reputation.”
This development comes just days after May, through her legal representatives Graylaw Partners, issued a cease-and-desist notice against Ugwuonye. In the letter, she accused him of cyberbullying, defamation, and cyberstalking, alleging that his social media posts had endangered her safety and reputation.
The online row has fueled intense reactions from fans and observers, with many calling for restraint from both sides while others await whether May’s legal team will respond to the fresh allegations.
