Nigerian fast-rising singer, Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, popularly known as Khaid, has stirred speculation about a possible fallout with his label boss, Sydney Talker, after dropping cryptic posts hinting at a looming legal battle.
Taking to his X page, the singer openly expressed frustration about the pressure and expectations surrounding him, stressing that he is now more focused on breaking free.
“They want control. I want freedom. Let’s see who wins,” he wrote, a statement many fans interpreted as a subtle dig at his record label.
Khaid further revealed he would be seeking legal backing to tackle personal matters that seem tied to his career. He encouraged young lawyers to explore opportunities in the entertainment industry, emphasizing the urgent need for strong legal representation in the music scene.
“These graduating lawyers better be in the entertainment scene. Y’all got work to do. Need me like five. Matter full ground. Time will tell,” he added.
Although Khaid has not directly confirmed whether his grievances are with Sydney Talker’s Neville Records, the timing of his posts has fueled rumours of a strained relationship.
The singer, who shot into the limelight in 2022 with his hit single “With You”, has since grown into one of Afrobeats’ promising voices, dropping multiple chart-topping records. His cryptic comments have left fans both worried and curious about his next career move.
As of now, neither Sydney Talker nor Neville Records has issued an official response to Khaid’s remarks, leaving the public to watch closely how the situation unfolds.
