Popular Kannywood actress Mansura Isa has come forward with the shocking revelation that her second marriage has ended in heartbreak, an experience she describes as “sudden and shocking,” likening it to a scene straight out of a movie.
Speaking candidly on the BBC Hausa programme Mahangar Zamani, the veteran actress appeared alongside fellow Kannywood star Fati Mohammad to shed light on her ordeal. Mansura disclosed that her second marriage, which became public in June 2024 and attracted media buzz with its lavish ceremony and N1 million bride price, has crumbled under what she now believes were manipulative intentions.
“I married for love. You know what they say, love is blind. But it turns out he had a different agenda, not real love,” she said during the emotional interview.
Mansura, who shares four children with her first husband, actor Sani Danja Iman, Khalifa, Sultan, and Sudais had previously been seen as part of one of the most admired couples in Kannywood. Their split came as a surprise to many, but her decision to remarry brought fresh hope, one that, she now reveals, was short-lived.
The actress narrated how she met her second husband while working on a project in Lagos. Lacking a representative in the city, she reached out to a man introduced to her by an uncle, asking him to help oversee the project. Things soon took an unexpected turn when he proposed marriage.
“He suddenly proposed marriage, and I accepted, thinking he was genuine. He even said I could continue with my film career. We got married at night, and the next morning he left for Lagos,” she recounted.
The true shock came shortly after the wedding. According to Mansura, her new husband returned to Lagos and presented her with a contract during the wedding, asking her to sign over the management of a N4 billion deal. Trusting him as her spouse, she signed the agreement. That decision marked the beginning of a rapid decline in their relationship.
“He brought a contract agreement to the wedding, asking me to sign that I approved him to manage a N4 billion contract on my behalf because he was now my husband. From that point, he began communicating directly with the parties involved and completely cut me off,” she revealed.
