Popular Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has stirred heated debate with his recent remarks about the medical industry. Speaking during an interview on the Echoo Room hosted by reality TV star Teddy A, the award-winning actor claimed that medical doctors are “basically trained all through their career not to heal.”
Jim Iyke argued that the global health system prioritizes profit over patients’ well-being, insisting that keeping people sick is more lucrative for the industry than curing them.
“There’s a GMO everywhere. The orthodox medicines; the lies. If I say it anywhere, it upsets them [medical practitioners],” he said, suggesting that pharmaceutical companies and health professionals deliberately avoid offering permanent solutions.
Expanding on his point, the actor stated:
“Medical doctors are basically trained all through their career not to heal. It’s big pharma business. If they tell you what to take and they heal you, you’re not a customer anymore and they won’t make money.
That’s a trillion-dollar industry.”
His comments have sparked a mix of outrage and support online, with some agreeing with his views on “big pharma,” while others accuse him of promoting conspiracy theories that could undermine trust in the medical profession.
