Popular Nollywood heartthrob Timini Egbuson has addressed long-standing public perceptions about his love life, stating emphatically that he is not a womaniser, contrary to the image many associate with him.
The 38-year-old actor, known for his roles as the charming “bad boy” on screen, made the revelation during a recent episode of The Culture League podcast, where he appeared alongside Super Eagles star Victor Boniface and comedian Bovi.
Speaking candidly, Timini explained that while the public often assumes he is romantically involved with multiple women, the reality of his lifestyle is quite the opposite.
“A lot of people assume that I’m a womaniser. But I’m not. In the past two, three years, Nollywood has taken over my life in a way that there’s no room, except you will be the most unserious [to womanise].”
He went on to paint a picture of his day-to-day routine, which is consumed by the demands of his acting career.
“I even wonder how some of my friends who womanise, date four or five girls simultaneously, have time to attend to all of them. Because from being on set all day to getting back tired at 11 pm, I will now start chatting a lady? I don’t have the capacity for that. So, I’m not in the street as people may think I am.”
Timini, who revealed that he has been single for the past two to three years, emphasized that his focus has been squarely on work. Still, despite the misconception, he isn’t bothered by the reputation that follows him.
He added with a smirk, “I enjoy the bad boy stereotype.”
Known for his effortless charm and a string of roles that often cast him as a ladies’ man, Timini’s statement challenges the assumptions that often blur the line between reel life and real life.
While social media and tabloid culture may try to box him into a particular image, Timini appears content living life on his own terms focused, hardworking, and far removed from the so-called “streets.”
