The sensational news that has got politicians and fans of pop culture all worked up is that Barack Obama has endorsed Kamala Harris for the 2024 elections.

But the real question on everyone’s lips: does Obama owns Netflix?

There are widespread rumors and speculations that Obama might be secretly pulling the strings at the streaming giant.

This speculation arose as netizens noticed a sudden influx of politically charged content seemingly aligned with Obama’s views, right around the same time he threw his support behind Harris. Coincidence? Maybe. Fun conspiracy theory?

Absolutely. “People are talking about” Obama and Michelle’s lucrative deal with Netflix, inked back in 2018 under their production company, Higher Ground Productions. Since then, the Obamas have been executive producers on several popular documentaries and series, prompting some to wonder if they have more influence over the streaming service than meets the eye.

But let’s get back to the main event: Barack Obama’s endorsement of Kamala Harris, which was accompanied by Michelle Obama, Endorsing the vice-president, they said; “Kamala has the vision, the character, and the strength that this critical moment demands.”

It followed a move where Harris gained the support of the majority of the Democratic delegates thus heading to the convention in August with very bright chances of being the official nominee.

Obama’s approval is one of the key factors in Harris’s campaign.

Sources from the Internet suggest that this endorsement could provide Harris with the boost she needs to solidify her position and energize the Democrats.

Obama himself admitted that choosing Harris was one of President Biden’s best decisions, considering her experience as California’s attorney general, US senator, and vice president.

A video accompanying the statement showed Harris receiving the call from the Obamas. “Oh my goodness,” she exclaimed.

“Michelle, Barack, this means so much to me.”

Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in… pic.twitter.com/0UIS0doIbA

Shortly after, Obama took to Twitter, saying, “Earlier this week, Michelle and I called Kamala Harris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November.”

The last burning question that can be asked is who owns Netflix now? It is important to mention that Obama does not own Netflix, however, it is divided between insiders and the large institutional investors such as BlackRock and the Vanguard Group, co-founder Reed Hastings, and the Chief Legal Officer David Hyman.

Even though Obama is not making decisions of what movie or show on Netflix you will see next, he is making strides politically. With the race intensifying, everyone will be watching Kamala Harris, sponsored by one of the most powerful endorsements of the modern American political process.
