Renowned music executive and producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has joined the growing chorus of Nigerians demanding urgent and decisive action from the Federal Government following the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and a string of recent terrorist attacks.
Reacting to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s statement on the tragic incidents, Don Jazzy took to X on Wednesday to express frustration over the rising insecurity, calling on the President to hold security chiefs fully accountable for their lapses.
The Mavin Records boss condemned the attacks in strong terms, insisting that terrorism must not be allowed to become a normalized part of life in Nigeria. He emphasised that the perpetrators should face severe consequences.
“The perpetrators deserve no mercy. There is an urgent need for our armed forces to eliminate every single one of these terrorists. It wasn’t always like this,” he wrote.
Don Jazzy questioned the efficiency of the country’s intelligence system, asking how terrorists continue to operate with apparent ease. He appealed directly to the President to demand better performance and transparency from those entrusted with securing the nation.
“Terrorism cannot be a part of our normal lives. Where are they appearing from and disappearing to? Where is the intelligence?” he asked.
In a firm message to President Tinubu, he added:
“Mr President, please demand more accountability from your security chiefs. This needs to end now, sir.”
Don Jazzy’s remarks echo the sentiments of many Nigerians who have expressed fear, anger, and exhaustion over the country’s growing insecurity, especially the continuous targeting of schools and vulnerable communities.
