Nigerian music star Iyanya has expressed strong hope that a collaboration between Afrobeats giants Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy will eventually happen, despite ongoing rivalry narratives among their fan bases.
Iyanya made this statement while reacting to Davido’s recent comments on a podcast, where the DMW boss blamed fans for fueling tension and making it difficult for him, Wizkid, and Burna Boy to work together. Davido’s remarks have since gone viral, reigniting conversations about the long-anticipated dream collaboration.
Reposting a snippet from the podcast on X, Iyanya used the opportunity to encourage unity among the trio and advised against allowing online trolls to sow division. According to him, the constant trolling and fan wars only benefit clout chasers while the real artists miss out on the opportunity to make timeless music and more money.
“Trolls trying to make money off trolling real hardworking brothers,” Iyanya wrote. “It’s not easy to look away sometimes, especially when they come for someone or something so dear to your heart.”
He continued, “I believe one day we will get that collaboration between David, Wiz, and Burna. I am one of those in the industry who have been privileged to have worked with all three. Let’s make music and get money.”
Wizkid and Burna Boy have previously collaborated on hits like Ginger and B D’or, showcasing a musical chemistry fans admire. Burna Boy and Davido also teamed up in their early careers on the track Trumpet, before Burna’s international breakout. However, Davido and Wizkid are yet to work together on a record, despite years of fan anticipation.
With Iyanya’s call for unity, fans remain hopeful that this dream trio collaboration could soon become a reality.
