Safety Concerns in Morgan Park
The Morgan Park and West Pullman areas have seen a troubling rise in missing person reports over the last year.
Community advocates have expressed growing concern regarding the safety of young women in these South Side corridors.
This specific block of South Church Street is usually a quiet residential area.
However, the proximity to major transit routes makes it easy for vehicles to exit the city quickly.
Similar cases in the 22nd District have often involved young people traveling between the city and southern suburbs.
Police are currently reviewing neighborhood surveillance footage to identify the license plate of the SUV.
Local leaders are urging residents to check their doorbell cameras from the afternoon of January 24.
Every minute counts when a minor is missing and seen entering an unidentified vehicle.
The Chicago Police Department has not yet released a description of the driver.
