This morning, a big wahala happened at Cele on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. A heavy truck carrying a container fell on its side and smashed into seven other vehicles.
Emergency teams, including police and LASTMA officers, swarmed the scene, pulling casualties from the wreckage and directing the growing backlog.
“Our men are on ground managing the traffic emanating from this,” a LASTMA spokesperson confirmed, adding that additional responders were en route.
Injured victims’ numbers still unclear, were whisked away to nearby hospitals while the agency battled to clear the debris. The truck’s spilled container, reportedly loaded with goods, complicated efforts, leaving the expressway choked.
Traffic stretched back to Ijesha and beyond, spilling into side streets as drivers honked in frustration.
