Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Farida Sultana Auduson Ibrahim, simply known as Sultana, has opened up about her personal decision to embrace Islam over Christianity, a revelation that has sparked conversations among fans of the show.
During a heartfelt conversation with fellow housemate Zita on Wednesday night, the 25-year-old plus-size model delved into her spiritual background and the influences that shaped her faith.
Born into an interfaith family, Sultana shared that her father is a Muslim from Adamawa State, while her mother, a Christian, hails from Yala in Cross River State. As a result, she was raised with exposure to both religions.
Zita, curious about her religious upbringing, asked, “Are your parents strict Muslims?”
To that, Sultana responded:
“No, I grew up going to both church and mosque, my mom is a Christian. At some point I got baptized in Catholic, my baptismal name is Josephine. I just decided to choose the religion that works best for me, which is Islam.”
Sultana’s revelation highlighted her journey of self-discovery and personal conviction. She revealed that although she once practiced Catholicism and bore the baptismal name Josephine, she ultimately found peace and fulfillment in Islam.
The moment resonated with many viewers who praised her honesty and willingness to speak openly about such a personal subject on national television.
As BBNaija 10 continues to unfold with emotional conversations, bold confessions, and bonding moments among housemates, Sultana’s story adds a layer of depth to her character, showing that beyond the glitz of reality TV, there are stories of real identity, choice, and self-awareness.
