Controversial Nigerian media personality, Daddy Freeze, has officially joined The Honest Bunch podcast as its newest co-host, replacing embattled broadcaster and comedian Nedu Wazobia.
The podcast’s producers made the announcement via their official Instagram page on Sunday night, ushering in what they described as a bold new chapter for the popular show.
The announcement was accompanied by a striking new poster featuring Daddy Freeze alongside the rest of the Honest Bunch crew. The caption read: “The Honest Bunch podcast just got more unfiltered. Get ready for hotter takes, deeper convos, and unapologetic honesty. Say hello to our latest addition @daddyfreeze.”
Shortly after, Daddy Freeze, known for his outspoken and often controversial opinions confirmed the update on his own Instagram page, sharing the same poster with the words:
“A New Era Has Begun.”
This major shift comes roughly four months after Nedu stepped away from the podcast amidst serious allegations. The former host had faced intense public backlash following accusations that he allegedly used the Honest Bunch platform to exploit up-and-coming female entertainers in exchange for podcast appearances.
The situation escalated when Big Brother Naija star DeeOne, during an appearance on the show, accused outspoken social media critic VeryDarkMan of being gay. The accusation prompted a fierce reaction from VeryDarkMan, who fired back with claims that Nedu had used the podcast to proposition women and even threatened to release names of those Nedu had privately bragged about sleeping with in the entertainment industry.
Following the fallout, Nedu maintained his position, stating during a press conference that he had “no regrets” about inviting DeeOne to the show, despite the controversy it sparked.
As The Honest Bunch moves forward with Daddy Freeze at the helm, fans are anticipating a fresh wave of raw, unfiltered discussions. Known for challenging religious dogma, political hypocrisy, and societal double standards, Daddy Freeze’s addition is expected to bring a sharper edge to the already fiery podcast.
