Barack Obama’s recent endorsement of Kamala Harris has sparked a buzz online, but not in the way you might expect.

The attempt to strengthen the campaign of the current Vice President Harris backfired, and instead, the social networks ignited with discussions related to the suspicious appearance of the former president’s endorsement video.

Kamala Harris posted the video on Twitter, now known as X, where she appeared to be on a call with both Barack and Michelle Obama.

The video was supposed to be such a stun, which will demonstrate the trust of the couple in Harris’s governance. However, the viewers did not miss a particular detail that caused controversy; there was a mic stuck to Harris’s dress.

One of them said, “Is the former President Obama and Michelle Obama calling Kamala Harris’ endorsement video staged and scripted?”

The photo used was of Kamala Harris where a mic was evident, emphasized by a circle around it.

The comments section was soon flooded with similar reactions, Another user joked, “Tell me your call with Michelle and Barack Obama was staged without telling me.”

The doubts did not end there as well. Another comment read, “Obviously the call was staged and scripted and she had a speaker on the phone and to her ear.”

Yet another user reasoned, “It should be staged/planned. That way they can use it to campaign,” suggesting that a scripted endorsement could still be effective.

Some of Harris and Obama supporters defended the video. “Even if it is staged, that does not negate Obama’s support for her,”

One user commented, emphasizing the fact that the substance of the endorsement remains strong, whether it’s a fake or not.

Online comments now still seem to be divided as the debate continues on a stronger level. While some people think that there is nothing wrong with the appearance of staging from time to time in political campaigns, others argue that the authenticity of such moments counts.

However, in any way, this has helped to keep Harris in the public consciousness and may have even given her campaign new strategic possibilities.

In the end, whether the call was a spontaneous moment of support or a carefully orchestrated piece of political theatre, one thing is clear: Obama’s blessing of Kamala Harris is now the flavour of the moment, and everybody has something to say about it. So, was it staged or was it real? The jury’s still out, but for now, enjoy the show and keep those tweets coming!
