A second teenage suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with an intensive multi-district armed robbery spree that targeted eight people across Chicago in under two hours back in August.

Members of the Chicago Police Department’s Citywide Robbery Task Force took a 16-year-old male into custody on Monday, November 2, 2026, in the 200 block of East Jefferson Street in Joliet, Illinois.
Authorities confirmed he was identified as an additional offender who participated alongside a 15-year-old male juvenile arrested late last month.

The charges stem from a coordinated series of armed robberies executed from a stolen vehicle during the early morning hours of August 9, 2026:
5:30 a.m. – 1900 block of S. Michigan Ave. (1st District); 21-year-old female victim
6:00 a.m. – 700 block of S. Wells St. (1st District); 22-year-old male victim
6:30 a.m. – 4300 block of S. California Ave. (9th District); 36-year-old male victim
6:40 a.m. – 1900 block of W. 47th St. (9th District); 62-year-old male and 59-year-old female victims
6:50 a.m. – 800 block of W. Garfield Blvd. (7th District); 32-year-old female and 43-year-old female victims
7:13 a.m. – 11700 block of S. State St. (5th District); 24-year-old female victim

The 16-year-old faces eight felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm and one misdemeanor count of criminal trespass to a vehicle with physical control.
Police reported the vehicle involved had been stolen on August 8, 2026, from the 7300 block of South Calumet Avenue in the 3rd District.

His arrest follows the previous apprehension of the 15-year-old suspect, who was taken into custody on October 29 in the 2700 block of South Indiana Avenue and charged with eight felony counts of armed robbery and one felony count of receiving a stolen vehicle.
Under Illinois law, the identities of juvenile offenders are withheld from public disclosure unless formal motions are granted to transfer the cases to adult criminal court.
