Afrobeats star Fola has issued a public apology after his first headline concert in Lagos ended abruptly due to safety problems.
The event, held last night, saw overcrowding that led to injuries among fans.
Fola stopped the show to prevent more harm. In his statement, he said, “My people, I’m really sorry about how last night went. People were hurt and that should never happen. I had to stop the show because safety comes before anything else. I hear you on all fronts, and we’re working to make things right.”
Fans expressed anger online about how the concert was managed, with some pointing to poor crowd control.
The debut performance was meant to showcase Fola’s rising career in the Afrobeats scene, but the night turned chaotic.
Organizers have not yet shared details on refunds or rescheduling, but Fola assured fans that steps are being taken to address the issues.
Fola, known for his hit tracks, continues to gain popularity in Nigeria and beyond. Fans hope for a smoother experience in future shows.
