Senator Ned Nwoko has reportedly filed for full custody of his children with Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, a move the actress says has left her completely cut off from them.
Regina Daniels disclosed the development in a post shared on her Instagram page, where she also uploaded a video recalling the last time she communicated with her children through a video call. According to her, the alleged custody filing came despite the senator already having physical custody of the children, a situation she described as emotionally devastating.
The actress lamented that she has been unable to see or speak with her children, stressing that no mother can find peace when separated from her children against her will.
She further alleged that Nwoko dismissed all her nannies and allegedly pressured them into making statements accusing her of violent behaviour and alcohol abuse in the presence of the children. Daniels described the claims as false and malicious.
Regina also accused the lawmaker of repeatedly posting the children on social media amid the dispute, noting that such actions would inevitably attract public and media attention while the matter remains unresolved.
According to her, she initially chose to remain silent in order to protect her children and avoid escalating the situation in the public space. However, she said she was compelled to speak out following what she described as continued provocation.
The custody dispute comes amid reports that the actress and the senator have separated, with Daniels previously stating that her marriage to the lawmaker has ended. The separation followed allegations of domestic abuse made by the actress, which were countered by claims of drug abuse allegedly levelled against her by the senator.
Reaffirming her identity as a mother, Regina Daniels said she misses her children deeply and remains hopeful that she will be reunited with them soon, expressing confidence that the truth will ultimately prevail.
