Samuel Ojeogwu, better known as Sammy West and brother to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has been granted bail to the tune of ₦5 million following his arrest by the police in Abuja.
The news of his release was confirmed by actress Doris Ogala, who appeared in a video shared via Instagram on Monday alongside Rita Daniels (Regina’s mother), Mercy Johnson, and other supporters.
“Sammy has been granted bail. God did it. Nigerians, thank you. See us just coming out,” Ogala announced excitedly after leaving the courthouse.
The development comes amid the ongoing tension between Regina Daniels’ family and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, whom the actress accused of masterminding her brother’s arrest.
The case, which has sparked widespread attention on social media, has seen Regina and her siblings allege harassment and intimidation from the senator.
Confirming the latest update, human rights activist Omoyele Sowore revealed that a legal team led by Barrister Marshal Abubakar successfully secured Sammy West’s bail, though the legal processes are still being finalized.
Earlier, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command arraigned Ojeogwu before an Abuja court on multiple charges including criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.
According to FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh, a petition filed on October 28, 2025, accused Ojeogwu and three others of conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
She further noted that the entertainer had ignored several police invitations before being arrested in Lagos under a court-issued warrant and subsequently transferred to Abuja for questioning.
