Veteran Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, has opened up about a memorable moment from his early acting journey, his first encounter with movie star Ramsey Nouah.
Speaking during a masterclass at the ongoing Filmhouse Africa Season 4: The Cinema Edition, a platform dedicated to nurturing aspiring actors and filmmakers, Ikedieze shared how much he admired the 1996 action movie Silent Night; a classic film directed by Chico Ejiro and written by Zeb Ejiro and Ogenejabor.
The film, which starred top Nollywood icons including Ramsey Nouah, Kate Henshaw, Segun Arinze, Joke Silva, and Alex Usifo, left a lasting impression on Ikedieze long before he joined the industry.
Recounting his fanboy moment, the comic actor said,
“I remember memorizing the movie Silent Night, and the first day I met Ramsey Nouah, I was reciting all the lines to him. Then, as an aspiring actor, I used to go to my mirror and rehearse every scene.”
Ikedieze, who officially began his acting career in 1998, just two years after Silent Night was released, said that moment of meeting Ramsey Nouah served as a powerful reminder of how far he had come in his craft.
The actor, who shot to fame in 2002 after his breakout role in the blockbuster “Aki na Ukwa” alongside Osita Iheme (Paw Paw), encouraged upcoming talents to remain passionate and consistent in pursuing their dreams.
His story, filled with nostalgia and humility, resonated with many young creatives present at the event, serving as an inspiring reminder that dedication, persistence, and a deep love for the art are key ingredients to success in Nollywood.
