The Lagos State Government has started a major operation to remove illegal structures and buildings without proper permits within the Trade Fair Complex in the Ojo Local Government Area.
The action is aimed at addressing illegal developments, structures built on road setbacks, and buildings on drainage channels.
The operation, which began this morning, saw a joint team of government agencies and security personnel at the complex. Key agencies involved include the Lagos State Urban Development, Ministry of Physical Planning, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), and the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA).
Also present were members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, signaling the importance of the exercise. The presence of security agencies was to ensure a smooth and orderly process.
According to a post by Jubril Gawat, an official from the Lagos State Government, the action is part of the government’s ongoing effort to enforce environmental laws and urban planning regulations.
The removal of these structures is expected to help with traffic flow and improve the overall environment in the area.
