The estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, May Yul Edochie, has filed a massive ₦1 billion lawsuit against her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, accusing him of cyberbullying, defamation, and cyberstalking.
In a cease-and-desist notice served through her legal representatives, Graylaw Partners, May alleged that Ugwuonye had consistently published damaging and malicious posts about her on social media.
According to the letter, his actions not only defamed her but also subjected her to ridicule, harassment, and threats that have endangered her safety.
“These posts are a calculated assault on our client’s reputation and have further imperiled her safety through malicious threats and false allegations. Beyond your own publications, you have incited third parties to amplify these communications, causing her severe and irreparable harm,” the notice stated.
May is demanding that Ugwuonye immediately stop all defamatory publications, retract existing posts, and issue a public apology across all his platforms.
She is also seeking ₦1 billion in damages for the harm allegedly caused to her image, reputation, and well-being.
The notice further warned that failure to comply could result in May initiating additional legal proceedings against the lawyer.
This development has stirred conversations online, with many Nigerians weighing in on May’s bold legal move against her former counsel.
