Police in Lagos have arrested and charged a 60-year-old man named Ajayi Femi for raping a 24-year-old woman.
The incident happened on August 22, 2025, when the suspect spiked the woman’s drink to make her unconscious and then had sex with her without her consent.
The victim’s sister reported the case to the Meiran Police Station on the same day.
Officers quickly moved it to the Gender Unit for a detailed check. Tests and questions showed what happened, and the suspect admitted to it in his statement.
Ajayi Femi now faces charges in court. A judge has sent him to prison until the next hearing.
The head of Lagos police, Commissioner Olohundare Jimoh, said the force will always fight for justice in sex crime cases. He wants people to feel safe in Lagos. Jimoh also asked everyone to tell the police about any sex offenses at local family support units for fast help.
