Lagos State Police Command officers from the Tactical Team Isheri have broken up a car theft group. They arrested four suspects and recovered a stolen Toyota Hiace bus.
The police received a report on August 1, 2025, about a suspected car theft involving Salisu Ibrahim Abdullahi, a 31-year-old man. Detectives used smart methods to track him down and arrested him in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The investigation continued and led to the arrest of three more suspects in Kano State: Yenusa Salihu, a 45-year-old mechanic; Baba Jero Idris, a 49-year-old car dealer; and Abdullahi Aliyu, a 41-year-old businessman. Officers also found the stolen grey Toyota Hiace bus in Kano.
All suspects will face court charges once the investigation ends.
Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the officers for their quick and smart work in stopping the theft group. He promised that the police will keep using strong methods to stop car thefts and catch criminals. This will help keep residents and visitors safe in Lagos.
