Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has sparked conversation online after publicly questioning the organizers of the Headies Awards about the car attached to his Next Rated win at the 2025 edition.
The fast-rising star took to his Twitter page with a humorous yet pointed reminder that he is yet to receive the vehicle promised to winners of the prestigious category.
“I don forget say I win car, headies wey my car?” he tweeted, before following up with another post that read, “Na true oo, Headies,” tagging the award brand directly.
Odumodublvck clinched the Next Rated title at the 2025 Headies Awards, a category that traditionally comes with a brand-new car. The rapper’s public statement suggests that the prize, which is often seen as a major incentive for young artistes, has not yet been delivered.
His tweets quickly gained traction, with fans reacting in mixed tones, some urging the Headies to fulfill their promise, while others praised Odumodublvck for calling out the issue in his signature witty style.
The Next Rated category of the Headies has a long history of spotlighting Nigeria’s future music stars, with past winners including the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and Ayra Starr. For Odumodublvck, the win was a milestone moment, but his reminder raises questions about accountability and transparency in the delivery of such prizes.
As of press time, the Headies organizers are yet to issue an official response to the rapper’s remarks.
