Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao has broken her silence following swirling rumours linking her romantically with popular actor Odunlade Adekola.
The speculation, which has trailed the actress for years, resurfaced last week after a viral video captured her avoiding the camera during the burial of Odunlade’s father. The clip reignited claims of a secret relationship between the two Yoruba movie stars, sparking fresh backlash against Ajao on social media.
Addressing the matter on Wednesday through a series of posts shared on her Instagram story, the actress dismissed the rumours as calculated attempts to soil her image and reputation.
According to her, she has come to terms with the fact that she cannot respond to every accusation or false narrative about her life.
In her words:
“You can’t fix every lie and rumour, nor can you defend yourself every time. Just be great. People may destroy your image, stain your personality, but they can’t take away your good deeds because no matter how they describe you, you will still be admired by those who know you better.”
Ajao further reflected on the lessons she has learned from the controversy, stressing the need to move on without seeking validation from critics. “Life hits differently when you stop to prove you didn’t do that, or you are not like that,” she wrote.
Despite years of being romantically linked with Odunlade Adekola, neither of the two stars has ever publicly confirmed such claims. Instead, Ajao has chosen to let her work in the movie industry speak for her, urging fans to focus on her craft rather than unverified rumours.
