Veteran Nollywood actor Clem Ohameze has strongly dismissed viral rumours about his health and family life, describing them as malicious fabrications intended to tarnish his reputation.
The actor, known for his decades-long presence on screen, was forced to react after a Facebook user identified as Okwulora alleged that he had suffered a stroke, was abandoned by his sons, and left in the care of his daughter.
Taking to social media in an emotional video, Clem categorically debunked the claims, stressing that he does not even have three sons and has never granted any interview where such a narrative was mentioned.
“The other time, it was that I was dead, now it is that I had a stroke, but who did I grant the interview to? Do I have three sons? What nonsense is this?” he lamented.
Visibly shaken, the actor revealed that the false reports had caused distress to his family, especially his children, noting that his daughter was the only one who stumbled on the damaging rumour.
“I believe he is satisfied. I had to call my children, and fortunately, it was only my daughter who heard about it. Why would people do this to me?” he asked tearfully.
Determined to seek justice, Clem announced that he has already initiated legal steps against Okwulora, labeling the act as cybercrime. He disclosed that he contacted a close friend in the Department of State Services (DSS) and has also involved the police to ensure the matter is addressed.
“I called my friend who is a director in the DSS and I have initiated a police case, this is a cybercrime. If you want cheap popularity go get it somewhere else because I will not allow some idiot tarnish my image because you want to attract traffic to your page,” he warned.
This is not the first time Clem Ohameze has had to fight off rumours about his wellbeing. In the past, he has been the subject of fake death reports, all of which he has had to debunk personally.
The actor emphasized that while he remains focused on his career and personal life, he will no longer tolerate falsehoods spread at his expense, especially when they threaten his family’s peace of mind.
