Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has revealed that he is gradually returning back to form after scoring the only goal in the 1-0 victory over Everton on Saturday.

Jackson ended his four-month goal drought with a well-taken strike in the 27th minute to boost Chelsea’s Champions League hopes.

It was Jackson’s 10th Premier League goal of the season, and he was delighted to end his drought.

Jackson said: “It was a very good goal,” Jackson was quoted by NBC. “Very happy to be back… Very good, everybody knows coming back from injury isn’t easy but now my body feels good, I’m coming back to my level. I am very happy that we won. That is the most important thing.”

On qualification for Champions League next season, the former Villarreal star added: “For the players, for the fans, everybody. That is our dream. I’ve never played it. Hopefully next year we play in it. We are still fighting.

“It’s not done yet so now we just move to the next one and try to fight for that spot.”

Chelsea coach, Enzo Maresca was delighted for the trio of Nico Jackson, Cole Palmer, and Robert Sanchez.

He said:  “We said many times, we don’t have doubts for Nico and Cole (Palmer), Robert (Sanchez). It’s the one where you need to support them more. Nico found a goal today. Cole’s performance today was very good. It’s a matter of time.”

The Italian manager was delighted with his team’s mentality to seal a hard-fought win.

Maresca concluded: “Very pleased with the mentality. The second-half at Fulham was fantastic and we started today’s game in the same way. At this stage of the season, the result is the main thing. We won the game today but for most parts of the game, it was our team on and off the ball.”

Up next for Chelsea is a clash against Djurgarden in the Europa League Conference League semi-final on Thursday.
