“I Know Where I’m Going” – 2Baba Reflects on Fame, Criticism, and Self-Control

In a refreshing and revealing interview with B2G Network, legendary Nigerian music icon 2Baba peeled back the layers of stardom to reveal that he is focused on the goal. He also disclosed the simple, grounded lifestyle that keeps him centered amid fame and public scrutiny.

Known for his timeless hits and unshakeable cool, 2Baba surprised fans by sharing that his self-care routine is as minimalistic as it gets. “I drink water a lot and I mind my business a lot,” he said, flashing his trademark smile. “I don’t have any die-hard routine. No gym. Once in a while, I jog, and performing on stage is my exercise. I just try to rest as much as I can.”

“Accepting responsibility for your actions, that’s the key,” he said. “You don’t have to deceive yourself. When you do, na yourself you dey deceive.”

The conversation delved deeper into the emotional toll of fame. 2Baba candidly addressed how public ridicule and harsh commentary can sting, even for someone with his experience.

“Sometimes people talk and make you the butt of jokes. It hurts,” he admitted. “But you have to grow thick skin. I just tell myself, ‘I know where I’m going is bigger than all these things.’”
