Delta Police Arrest 23-Year-Old for Allegedly Killing Father Over N5000

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a 23-year-old man named Success for allegedly killing his father with a cutlass in Amukpe community, Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State.

The tragic incident reportedly occurred after a heated argument erupted when Success requested ₦5,000 from his father, who refused. Witnesses described the suspect as a known drug addict prone to erratic behavior.

“A lot of us in the area know him as someone who misbehaves after using drugs,” a neighbor said anonymously.

The argument escalated, resulting in Success attacking his father with a cutlass. The severely injured victim was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Delta State Police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest on Thursday, adding that investigations are ongoing.
