Chicago Police are investigating the death of 15-year-old Kenwon Van Pelt, also known as “Lil Kso,” who was found with a gunshot wound to the head on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Officers were called to a residence near Marquette and Parnell at approximately 11:35 a.m., where the teen was discovered deceased inside his home in the 6700 block of South Parnell Avenue.
According to reports, the boy’s mother found him and called for help, stating, “There’s a lot of blood inside the unit.”
While authorities have not determined if the fatal shot came from inside or outside the home, nearly a dozen shell casings were found in the parking lot, which was cordoned off with red crime scene tape.
Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
