In a move that has sparked widespread debate, Dunkin’ Donuts recently decided to cease advertising on the video platform Rumble, leading to the trending hashtag #BoycottDunkinDonuts on social media.

The controversy began when Dunkin’ Donuts opted to pull its ads from Rumble, a platform known for hosting a variety of content, including conservative commentary. Many saw this as a corporate stance against the freedom of expression, igniting a wave of anger online.

“So, companies like POS @dunkindonuts are boycotting Rumble, and X, unless they drop all the truth tellers – Anyone else tired of this nonsense? I’m calling on everyone to BudLight @dunkindonuts,” wrote one user, urging others to join the boycott.

Supporters of the boycott are drawing parallels to the backlash faced by Bud Light earlier this year, encouraging a united front to protest Dunkin’ Donuts’ actions. “Seriously, companies like @dunkindonuts think they can bully us – and what I’m asking you tonight is to stick together and turn @dunkindonuts into Bud Light,” another user rallied.

The call for a boycott has gained momentum, especially after Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski publicly revealed that Dunkin’ Donuts was a significant player in the move to boycott platforms like Rumble and X (formerly Twitter).

Bumble CEO post

“Both @Diageo_NA and dunkindonuts want us to drop @scrowder and get away from “right wing culture” in order to get ad dollars from them.” Chris posted.

Pavlovski’s statement has fueled the narrative that Dunkin’ Donuts is actively working to suppress certain viewpoints, further inciting anger among users.

“Millions of people across the country will be boycotting Dunkin’ Donuts after Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski released information showing them as a big actor in the move to boycott platforms like Rumble and X,” one post read, capturing the widespread sentiment.

Dunkin’ Donuts has defended its decision, stating that it aims to ensure its advertising aligns with the company’s values and audience. However, this explanation has done little to quell the outrage among those who see the move as an attack on free speech.

For now, the hashtag #BoycottDunkinDonuts continues to trend.
