Chicago police and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force have arrested 40-year-old Latanya Howard, charging her with first-degree attempted murder in connection with a September stabbing on Wilson Avenue.
A 40-year-old woman is facing a felony attempted first-degree murder charge after authorities arrested her in connection with a violent stabbing in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.

Chicago police identified the suspect as Latanya Howard, a resident of the 1400 block of West Greenleaf Avenue.
According to police reports, the stabbing incident occurred on September 23, 2026, in the 900 block of West Wilson Avenue, located within the city’s 19th District.

Investigators stated Howard attacked and stabbed a 39-year-old female victim, inflicting serious injuries.
First responders provided emergency medical care, and the victim survived the violent encounter.
Members of the Chicago Police Department, working alongside the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, located and apprehended Howard on September 29, 2026, in the 800 block of West Irving Park Road.
Following her arrest, prosecutors formally charged Howard with one felony count of first-degree attempted murder.

Court records show Howard is scheduled for a detention hearing on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Leighton Criminal Court Building located at 2600 South California Avenue.
