Chicago police arrested 27-year-old Anthony Pina five minutes after he allegedly stabbed a 41-year-old man and threatened another victim on West Marquette Road.
A 27-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges following a stabbing and assault incident on the city’s Southwest Side on Saturday afternoon.
Officers with the Chicago Police Department took Anthony Pina into custody on September 26, 2026, at approximately 12:35 p.m.
Arresting officers located Pina in the 3300 block of West Marquette Road in the Marquette Park neighborhood within the 8th Police District.
Police identified Pina as the suspect who stabbed a 41-year-old male victim approximately five minutes prior to his arrest in the same block.
The stabbing resulted in severe bodily injuries to the 41-year-old victim, requiring medical attention.
During the same encounter, Pina allegedly placed a second victim, a 32-year-old male, in reasonable fear of being battered with a deadly weapon.
Responding officers rapidly descended on the scene, secured the area, and placed Pina into custody without further incident.
Cook County prosecutors formally charged Pina with one felony count of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
Prosecutors additionally charged Pina with one felony count of Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm and one misdemeanor count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Pina resides in the 3300 block of West Marquette Road, according to official police records.
Court officials scheduled Pina for a formal detention hearing on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse located at 2600 South California Avenue.
Detectives have not publicly released additional details regarding what led to the altercation or the current medical status of the injured victim.
