A two-storey building located at 4, Modupeola Street, Mangoro, in the Alimosho area of Lagos, collapsed yesterday evening. One person was rescued from the rubble with a fracture and bruises, while five others were safely pulled out.
The incident, which occurred around 6 p.m., has prompted government officials to launch an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) and other first responders were on the scene promptly. They were able to rescue the five individuals, who were taken to a private hospital nearby for treatment.
The trapped victim, a 44-year-old man, was rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Surgical Emergency Unit by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS). He arrived in stable condition and has been admitted for further treatment.
The cause of the collapse is not yet known, but government authorities are investigating the incident.
