Lagos authorities have shut down 26 bars and lounges in Lekki Phase 1 due to persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations.
The closures, led by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), were carried out on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, following repeated warnings.
The enforcement exercise was directed by the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, as part of a firm stance against environmental infractions. Among the popular spots sealed were Farm City, Kingfisher, Beer Barn, and Sailors Lounge. The full list of affected establishments includes:

LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, stated that the agency’s actions are a clear message that environmental laws will be enforced to protect public health and create a cleaner, more sustainable city. He added that prosecution will be in line with state laws.
