As Lagosians kick off their Saturday morning on April 19, 2025, here’s a quick rundown of traffic conditions across key corridors, including Yaba/Oyingbo, International Airport Road/Ajao Estate, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Carter Bridge/Idumota, Ikorodu, and Mile 2/Ijesha.

  1. Yaba/Oyingbo Corridor: Traffic is smooth across the axis. Jibowu to Fadeyi, Yaba Phases 1 and 2, and Murtala Muhammed Way to Oyingbo are clear. Oyingbo to Iddo via Otto moves steadily, but Ile Ille is slightly busy due to market activity. Adekunle to Third Mainland Bridge is good, while Herbert Macaulay Way from Makoko to St. Agnes is clear. Slow movement near Unilag junction/Yabatech due to potholes and flash floods.

  2. International Airport Road/Ajao Estate: Good movement in and out. Oshodi Express Road to Apakun, Nacho International, and Airport Road is clear. Ajao Estate Gate, Fatai Irawo, Awoniyi Elemo, and connecting streets to NNPC Junction are smooth. No impediments reported, with officers managing choke points.

  3. Lagos-Badagry Expressway: Smooth traffic from Agbara Custom Check-Point to Odofa and Badagry. Return journeys from Badagry to Ijanikin and Oko-Afo to Badagry Roundabout via Mowo, Mosafejo, and others are clear. Personnel are on ground, and no issues are reported.

  4. Carter Bridge/Idumota (CBD): Free flow in and out of Carter Bridge. Idumota to Eyin Eyo, Balogun Street, Tinubu Square to Nnamdi Azikiwe, and Oyebanji Roundabout to Adeniji Adele are smooth. Ilubinrin to Ijora Olopa and Oyingbo is fast, with no overnight impediments.

  5. Inner Ikorodu Axis: Good movement from Sabo Roundabout to Alaka via Sabo Market Gate and Itamaga. Return from Itamaga to Sabo is clear. Agbowa to Imota, Adamo to Lasustech, and Itamaga to Ijede via Idi Iroko and Elepe are smooth, with officers managing traffic.

  6. Mile 2/Ijesha Corridor: Second Rainbow to Mile 2 Oke and Otto Wharf is in good shape. Mile 2 to Durbar Junction and Mazamaza is clear, though slightly busy from Ecomog to Car Wash. Alakija, Abule Ado, Festac, and Navy Town are smooth, with Apple Junction’s four angles clear.

  7. General Advisory: LASTMA officers are deployed across all zones, ensuring efficient traffic management. Motorists are advised to plan routes, especially around Unilag junction/Yabatech and Ile Ille, where minor delays may occur.

  8. Alternate Routes: For Yaba/Oyingbo, consider using Third Mainland Bridge for faster access to the Island. Airport Road users can leverage Asa Afariogun Street to avoid minor choke points.

  9. Safety Tip: Watch for flash floods near Yabatech and potholes on key routes. Drive cautiously, especially in market areas like Ile Ille.

Lagos remains vibrant, and with these updates, you can navigate the city with ease this Saturday morning.
