John’s son, Kelly Christopher Amos in a statement on Tuesday, announced that the actor passed away of natural causes on August 21.
“It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned. He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold and he was loved world over.” he announced.
“Many fans consider him as their TV father. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor,”

A woman named Maryah Cobb has become a trending topic on social media after she posted about John Amos just hours after his passing.
In her post, she wrote, “RIP to a legend John Amos. Remember I put this P**y on you so good you could barely move.”
She continued, “When we first met, he said he loved my tattoos. I thought, oh this is gonna be a GOOD TIME.”
