A Southlake woman, Staci Blackmon, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing $1.2 million from her former employer.

The money was used to fund extravagant purchases, including TikTok coins, exclusive tickets to a Dallas Mavericks game, and luxury trips.

Blackmon’s criminal activities began in 2020, according to prosecutors.

She was charged with two counts of Theft Over $300,000, with each charge carrying a 35-year sentence.

The stolen funds came from an account belonging to Blackmon’s former employer in Southlake, along with the company’s bank account.

Prosecutors revealed that the majority of the money was spent on TikTok coins, a virtual currency used within the app to tip creators during live streams.

These coins can be converted into real money, making them a lucrative purchase for someone looking to launder stolen funds.

In addition to the TikTok coins, Blackmon used the stolen money to buy an exclusive suite at a Dallas Mavericks game, purchase home furniture, and take luxurious vacations.

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s office confirmed the charges and posted about it on X (formerly Twitter). “Thanks to the Southlake Police Department for their work on this case and for keeping our community safe.”
