Octavia Redmond: Postal worker shot dead outside Chicago’s West Pullman home
A 48-year-old Postal worker identified as Octavia Redmond has been shot dead outside Chicago’s West Pullman home.
Police said the offender, who was only identified as a male, approached Redmond, 48, pulled out a gun, and fired shots.
She was taken to Christ Hospital in very critical condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds to her body, according to Chicago Fire Department officials, where she later died.
According to Neighbors, they saw a car driving toward the victim’s USPS truck before hearing at least ten shots in broad daylight. ABC7 reported.
Police reported that the offender fled westbound on 121st Street, while Redmond’s USPS truck remained on the scene.
Inspectors from the United States Postal Inspection Service’s Chicago Division have responded by offering a reward of up to $250,000 for information leading to the shooter’s arrest and conviction.
There is no word yet on the motive. Detectives from Area Two are conducting an investigation.
